When you’re trying to get pregnant, experiencing any kind of bleeding might be extremely frustrating. However, don’t be disappointed as this bleeding could indicate pregnancy implantation. This bleeding is an early symptom of pregnancy. Here are some signs of pregnancy implantation that you should look out for:
Signs of Pregnancy Implantation
Every pregnancy is different and so are the implantation symptoms. Here are some possible signs that may indicate implantation:
- Bleeding or Spotting
This is one of the main symptoms of implantation. This happens when the embryo embeds into the uterine wall. Implantation bleeding is usually scanty and not as red or heavy as the period bleeding.
This is similar to period cramping, however, these cramps are mild and less painful. You are likely to experience them in your back and lower abdomen. These are associated with the contractions in the uterine wall. If these cramps get severe, see your doctor immediately.
- Changes in Breasts
Your body begins to change soon after implantation. You will experience tenderness, soreness, and swelling in your breasts due to the changing female hormone levels. In certain cases, these changes are visible during ovulation as well.
- Frequent Urination
You may feel the urge to urinate more frequently after a week of implantation. Increased blood supply to the pelvic area can put pressure on your bladder and lead to frequent urination.
- Food Cravings or Aversions
This is another common sign of implantation. The hormones produced as a result of implantation can alter your food likes and dislikes. You may crave for foods that you once disliked, or cannot tolerate foods that you used to love.
- Hot Flashes
Although less common, these are also a sign of implantation. They last for about 15 minutes at the time of implantation. This is because hormone levels fluctuate rapidly and cause hot flashes.
A pregnancy test is the only way to confirm your pregnancy, should you experience any of these symptoms. If you notice any spots, wait for about three days before taking a home pregnancy test for an accurate result. You can also visit our doctors at KIMS Cuddles for a sonogram to know if the embryo is attached to the uterine wall. The fetus can be seen in the uterus after three to four weeks of implantation.
