Overview:

Dr Kavitha is a Paediatric & Adolescent Endocrinologist & Diabetologist with over two decades of paediatric experience caring for children and adolescents with complex hormonal and metabolic conditions, from diabetes to thyroid disorders to growth, puberty, and adrenal conditions. Trained at various hospitals within the NHS in the UK. Dr Kavitha has held various training & consultant posts at the Northern Deanery, UK, Rainbow Children's Hospital, Hyderabad, India and currently at KIMS (CUDDLES) Hospitals Hyderabad. She is leading specialist clinics for children with diabetes on insulin pump therapy and continuous glucose monitoring.

  • Bone disorders including various types of rickets, calcium & phosphate conditions and parathyroid disorders
  • Adolescent gynaecological endocrinology including menstrual irregularities
  • Childhood obesity and metabolic health
  • Prematurity and associated endocrine issues like metabolic bone disease of prematurity, foetal growth restriction (IUGR) and small for gestational age (SGA)
  • Late effects of Childhood cancers

Beyond the clinic, Dr Kavitha is a Clinical Overseas Examiner for the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) UK, a co-author of the Indian Academy of Paediatrics national guidelines on childhood obesity, and the developer of pDKA, a free digital decision-support tool to standardise and safeguard the management of paediatric diabetic ketoacidosis.
